Dear Parent or Carer,

The Winning Class is: Mrs Williams’ Class – Bendigedig!

We aim for every class to get 100% attendance each week. Anything over 95% is good. Last term we managed to achieve our attendance target of 95%.

Training Day

The school will be closed to all pupils on Monday January 30th 2017 for a training day. School re-opens on Tuesday January 31st 2017.

Golden Rules

We have begun to introduce a new approach to behaviour management in school, starting with our ‘Golden rules’. These rules are ‘moral values’, they are the vision for the school and for each person it nurtures. The Golden Rules are a vision of the people we want our children to be. They are the moral values which underpin all the choices and decisions made by the school and its learners.

  • We are honest – we don’t cover up the truth
  • We are kind and gentle – we don’t hurt  others and we don’t hurt their feelings
  • We listen and work hard – we don’t interrupt and we don’t waste our own or others’ time
  • We look after property – we don’t waste or damage things.

We will also begin awarding golden tickets each week to those children who not only look after property but who wear the correct school uniform to school, each week.

Music Tuition Fees

A reminder that music fees are now due for the spring term. These are charged at £55 per instrument. If you are finding meeting these fees a challenge you can apply for financial support through Monmouthshire County Councils Access Fund. Mrs Owen in the office will be able to help you with this.
