Dear Parent or Carer,

The Winning Classes are:–Miss Davies’ Year 2 and Mrs Phillips/ Mrs Taylor’s – Your Classes have won the most Golden Tickets for attendance. Bad luck Miss Guppy’s Class you just missed out by 0.3%. Better luck next week!

Attendance for many classes is still a cause for concern. We are currently 94.5% but this is still below our target of 95%.

Comic Relief Red Nose Day

The School Council are organising a ‘Mad Hair Day’ on Friday 24th March in aid of Comic Relief. You will need to pay £1 to have Mad Hair for the day.

Social Media

We have noticed that some of our children have been using social media unsupervised and have caused upset to other children by posting unkind comments – parents need to be aware that the recommended age for young people to have and use a social media account, is 13 years of age. Children need to know how to keep themselves safe on line and have the emotional maturity and resilience to manage all kinds of communications, positive and negative. Keep your child safe by supervising their online activity, at all times.

Parent Meetings

Miss Barry is holding parent consultations for Y2 on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Parents should all have received their appointment times.

You can follow the PTFA on Face Book. The PTFA are looking for a secretary to take minutes at meetings – if you can help please speak to Danielle Farrington.

The PTFA will be running an art day at school for Key Stage 2 on 4th and 5th April. They need families to donate ceramics (china cups, plates, bowls, etc. to be used for mosaics), Lego, bottle tops and plastic letter magnets.

The PTFA Chocolate Bingo will be hosted at school on Friday March 31st at 6pm. This is a fun evening for all the family with hot dogs and refreshments for sale.

Golden Rules

We are learning about the second of our four Golden Rules, ‘We are kind and gentle’. Children will be able to earn ‘Golden Tickets’ for following this rule and the rule of ‘Looking after property’.

Golden Rule

  • We are honest – we don’t cover up the truth
  • We are kind and gentle – we don’t hurt  others and we don’t hurt their feelings
  • We listen and work hard – we don’t interrupt and we don’t waste our own or others’ time
